Welcome!

A warm welcome to 795 (Harpenden) Sqn, Air Training Corps!

I'd like to welcome all new prospective cadets to our website and invite you to feel free to browse the various sections. If you cannot find the answer to a specific question, do not hesitate to contact us. Joining the Air Cadets or, indeed, any of the military/structured youth organisations may not be every teenager's 'cup of tea,' but if you are one of the few who would like to do more with your school years than just homework, after-school chess club or watching 'Home and Away' then you may be interested in what we have to offer.

Our programme is carefully put together weeks in advance and is designed to cover the areas dictated by the Air Cadet Training Centre at RAFC Cranwell. You can expect formal training in aeronautical academic subjects, leadership skills, fieldcraft, model/engineering projects, navigation skills, shooting, public speaking/debating and summer camps on some of the top Royal Air Force and Army bases.

No cadet leaves the ATC without improving on their confidence, judgement and ability to think on one's feet -essential tributes in today's competitive academic and work environments. We'd also like to think that the will and need to help others around you becomes more appreciated, producing more rounded, compassionate and considerate individuals. Overall there are a great many benefits open to you when you join the Air Cadets at Harpenden. The first one being fun! To find out a great deal more about our organisation, from an outsider's perspective, click on the following link! If you happen to live slightly further afield and would like to find a closer squadron, you will find all the country's units listed here.

Commanding Officer

Flt Lt Tim Hatton, RAFVR(T)

Become a Leader. Be a CDT NCO.

There is no greater recognition for your personal development than the award of your first NCO rank. It is not a decision taken lightly by the Sqn Staff, and individuals are chosen almost exclusively on merit and capabities.
